Day 42 – David Part II

It took another two years but Centrelink eventually admitted that they had breached the Federal Privacy Act, and have now promised to review their policies to amend their practices. They even sent me a letter of apology.

Four long years it took me to get justice but at the end of the day, that was all I wanted. For Centrelink to admit that they had done the wrong thing and change how they did their work.

It is very difficult to explain how important this outcome is to me – I may well be reliant on Centrelink for the rest of my life. To depend on Centrelink for basic necessities when they had breached such a fundamental promise to me was so difficult.
